Meet Our Team
Alan Berg
Founder/Editor
Alan founded TheAwesomeMix in 2021 after a career writing for music magazines across Europe. Now settled in the US, he listens to jazz and NPR exclusively.
Jennifer Moritz
Editor
Jennifer joined the team in mid 2022, coming from editing the music sections of multiple newspapers in the midwest. She’s a pop fan through and through!
Chelsea Cooke
Writer/Researcher
Chelsea brings an encyclopedic knowledge of 80s and 90s pop to the team, and loves researching the stories of the songs of her youth.
Nina Hampson
Writer/Researcher
Nina is a 90s rock and 70s soul expert, with a journalism degree from Arizona State and a music room full of cassette tapes – who even uses those any more!
Eddy Villa
Writer/Researcher
Eddy (Ed) took the pandemic as an excuse to move to Germany, and has been immersing himself in the Berlin music scene – happy days!
Richard Ellison
Writer/Researcher
Richard has written for several large US music tech magazines, typically as a features writer, and makes throwback breakbeat music in his spare time.
